Biomass Plants

BIOMASS INFO

Biomass is a term describing a renewable energy source, which is derived from organic matter.

Biomass includes any material derived from living organisms. Biomass for energy purposes includes any type that can be used to produce solid, liquid or gaseous fuels.

BIOMASS UTILIZATION – RAW MATERIALS – PRODUCTION PROCEDURES

Schematically in an introductory level below, are the three main uses of biomass utilization, the raw materials used and the best-known procedures to achieve a productive outcome from these sources.

BRIEF OUTLINE OF A BIO-LIQUID COMBUSTION PLANT

Biomass plants for electricity production (interconnected to national electricity grids) are financially effective and environmentally beneficial projects.

The stages of electricity production are carried out by using a combination of modified internal combustion diesel engines plus generators. It is possible to install additional electromechanical equipment to exploit the thermal balance (heat rejection) for additional power generation (ORC, steam turbines technology etc.).

In the following photos you can easily see an indicative building scheme and the basic electromechanical equipment needed:

Similar innovative projects exist in several countries around the globe, using advanced systems of the most reliable factories of this sector (Deutz, Perkins, Volvo, Wartsila, Stamford, Mecc Alte etc.).

OUR COMPANY
